Description
China is a developing country. Because it has a large population and its industrialization is not yet finished, its energy consumption level is still fairly low as compared with the developed countries, and its per-capita energy consumption is only about one-fourth of that in the industrialized countries. The development of its economy and the improvement in the standard of living of its people are the long-range goals to strive for. The fast development of the national economy and society is the basic force behind the increasing growth of China’s energy demands. To provide more energy for economic and social development in order to meet the increasing energy demands and raise the level of energy provided to the broad masses of the people is still a long-rage challenge confronting China’s energy issue.
